DPRD Supports City in Tightening Health Protocols Monitoring

In order to prevent COVID-19 transmission, Jakarta Council (DPRD) supports Jakarta Government for tightening health protocols monitoring following the re-imposing of Total Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy starting this Monday (9/14).

By tightening health protocols, it means no more relaxation or social sanctions

"By tightening health protocols, it means no more relaxation or social sanctions. There must be a strict sanction to give deterrent effect to the violators," stated August Hamonongan, Commission A Legislator.

He hopes, COVID-19 prevention through Emergency Brake Policy drawn by Jakarta Government can be carried out simultaneously with optimization in economic sector.

"It should be done thus people can still carry out economic activities as well as implementing health protocols," he mentioned.

This way, he assessed, city's economy can continue to move forward together with efforts to prevent COVID-19. For example, it can be done by encouraging people to do online transactions or take away.

"Take away becomes the best option to avoid crowd," he closed.
